The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, has directed the Muslim Ummah to look for the new moon of Dhul Hijjah 1439AH from Sunday 12th August, 2018. The sultan gave this directive in a statement signed by Professor Sambo Junaidu I.e the current Waziri of the sultan, the Chairman, Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs, Sultanate Council Sokoto, on Sunday. Muslims are therefore, requested to start looking for the new moon and report its sighting to the nearest district or Village Head for onward communication to the Sultan. He prayed for all Muslims for Allah to help them in the discharge of their religious duty.
